Aboite Township is one of twenty townships in Allen County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 35,765,[5] up from 28,338 in 2000.[6]
Aboite Township was named from the Aboite Creek, which is derived from the French word for "minnow".[7]
According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 33.35 square miles (86.4 km2), of which 33.33 square miles (86.3 km2) (or 99.94%) is land and 0.03 square miles (0.078 km2) (or 0.09%) is water.[5]
Fort Wayne incorporated approximately 12 square miles (31 km2) of Aboite territory effective January 1, 2006.[8]
The township contains these two cemeteries: Covington Memorial Gardens and Oak Grove.
