Dish Media Network Limited, branded as "DishHome," is a telecommunications company based in Lalitpur, Nepal. Established in 2010, it provides services such as Direct-to-Home (DTH), broadband, over-the-top (OTT) streaming, IPTV, and data center solutions. The company uses MPEG-4 and DVB S2 compression technologies and operates on the Amos-4 satellite. DishHome also uses conditional access systems from Verimatrix Conax/Nagravision and digital rights management from CryptoGuard. Their set-top boxes (STBs) are manufactured by SandMartin and Arion.
By 2016, DishHome had crossed the 750,000 subscriber mark.[2][3] Dish Home has achieved a customer base of over a million by 2019.[4] As of April 2019, DishHome has a total of 200+ television channels, including 150+ SD channels and 50+ HD channels.[5] In 2021, Dishhome started its own fiber internet under name DishHome Fibernet which has currently emerged as a major ISP in Nepal with more than 2 lakh subscribers.[6][7]
DishHome was created in 2010 through the merger of two providers, Home TV and Dish Nepal. In 2011, SandMartin International Holding (SMT) became a shareholder, bringing expertise in digital technologies. Initially focused on DTH services, DishHome expanded its offerings to include broadband, IPTV, and cloud services.
By 2012, DishHome had 100,000 subscribers, and by 2019, the number had grown to 1.5 million. In the same year, the company introduced its fiber internet service, which quickly gained traction, reaching over 300,000 subscribers by 2022. DishHome now serves more than 300 enterprise clients.
DishHome uses MPEG-4 with DVB S2 digital compression technology, transmitting HD Channels and SD Channels in Ku-Band on Amos-4 at 65.0°E.[8] DishHome relies on CAS from Verimatrix and Latens. Their STBs are provisioned by SandMartin and Arion.[9]
