Wildscreen.[1][2]. Launched in February 2024, it aims to connect and engage teenagers with nature and the natural world, utilizing nature video and photo content alongside educational resources[3][4]. The project's initial phase has concentrated on UK wildlife, with plans to expand to global species in subsequent phases[5].

Initiatives

[edit]

During the first year of the project, a local Youth Film and Photography Competition was launched for young people from the West of England region, in collaboration with the West of England Combined Authority.[6][7]

History

[edit]

Wildscreen ARK is the newest version of ARKive.[8], a project created by Christopher Parsons, a founding member of the BBC Natural History Unit and the Wildscreen charity[9]. ARKive was a huge, free, multimedia project documenting the lives of 16,000+ endangered species with over 100,000 videos, photos and authenticated fact files. Used by over a million people around the world each month, it was with regret that ARKive was retired in 2019.[8]
