Fanny Blankers-Koen Stadion (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈfɑni ˈblɑŋkərs ˈkun ˌstaːdijɔn]) is a multi-use stadium in Hengelo, Netherlands. It is currently used mostly for athletics meets, especially the annual Fanny Blankers-Koen Games, and also was the venue for the European Athletics Junior Championships in July 2007.[1] It holds more than 8,000 people[2][3] and is named after the Dutch athlete Fanny Blankers-Koen. The stadium was originally known as Stadion Veldwijk (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈstaːdijɔɱ ˈvɛltʋɛik]), but changed to its current name in 1982.
Het gehele stadion is vanaf deze editie voorzien van zitplaatsen, iets meer dan 8000 in totaal.[As of this edition the entire stadion has been fitted with seats, a little over 8,000 in total.]
Het verdwijnen van de staanplaatsen maakt wel dat de capaciteit terugloopt van ruim 9000 naar ruim 8000 toeschouwers.[Removing the standing places results in a capacity reduction from a little over 9,000 to a little over 8,000 spectators.]
