Geralin Thomas is an American organizing consultant[1] best known for her appearances on the television show Hoarders.[2] She is the proprietor of the company Metropolitan Organizing,[3][4] based in Cary, North Carolina.[5]
She has been interviewed for several radio shows on subjects related to hoarding and professional organizing including, Time Management Radio,[9]Blog Talk Radio[10] and Sunny 93 FM.
Thomas joined the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) in August 2003, the organization's name was changed to National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals in 2017. She has been an instructor for NAPO since 2006. Thomas served as Vice President of the NAPO-NC chapter from 2004 to 2007 and as president from 2007 to 2008.
In 2009, Thomas became a Certified Professional Organizer in Chronic Disorganization and in 2013 was named the Best Chronic Disorganization Specialist at the 7th annual Organizing Awards presented by NAPO-Los Angeles.[11]
Thomas maintains a blog where she interviews organizing experts[12] and was a contributor to the Clutter Diet from 2008 until 2011. Her advice on hoarding disorder and professional organizing is regularly quoted in newspapers,[13] magazines, publications and other print media including: Huffington Post,[14]TV Guide[15] and Experience Life Magazine.[16] She has also written articles for various magazines.[12]
