which song Blu Cantrell hits B6?? Some singers have just their notes but I wanna know in what music they hit them... There's just the notes and octaves of some singers in their respective pages, but I would like to know in what songs they hit their highest and lowest notes...—Preceding unsigned comment added by Gubel (talk • contribs)

Blu hits her highest note in the song "waste my time". It's gotta be close to or in the seventh octave i'm sure. It was very high.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.200.116.139 (talk • contribs)
I removed a reference to whistle-tone Blu supposedly uses in an unreleased song because there is no proof provided that the song even exists, let alone her use of whistle-tone. Then I noticed a bit of a debate going on in the page's history...I still think it doesn't belong in the article without a citation, as it's not common knowledge. Putting a {fact} tag on it doesn't increase its legitimacy. In my opinion, it compromises the integrity of the page. But I'm aware the debate isn't settled; this is just my two cents. --Marysunshine 18:46, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Rumors are that she previously was a pornstar before becoming a singer . This was apparently in the 90's and 80's. This needs to be verified.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.80.222.211 (talk • contribs)
In the opening track, "Waste My Time" from her debut album, So Blu.[1] Cantrell hits notes in the seventh octave. According to an interview with Neil McCormick at smh.com.au, Cantrell mentions she has a 5 octave range, as well as her struggles to get noticed in the music business, "I'd get on stage and I'd sing and hit five octaves. I coulda did a backwards flip and they woulda sat there and gone, 'Hmm, I don't know!'
The first sentence in the above is 'original research' and not referenced by an official source. Furthermore, one of the criteria to be on the seventh octave list is that the person has to have multiple recordings displaying such ability. I am also not pleased with the second sentence because it was Blu herself who declared that she has hit 5 octaves and not the interviewer him/herself declaring this. Until more suitable information is available I do not think Blu's name is to be readded. ke'ke 10/30/06 7:28am —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.213.98.17 (talk • contribs)
This article was previously tagged with Category:People with bipolar disorder. As no evidence whatsoever has been presented in the article to support this assertion, and Googling finds no sign of such evidence, I'm removed the tag. -- The Anome 08:17, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
i'm fed up typing the same thing over and over would you just change it, it's getting frustrating and annoying.
you clearly know less about her than i do and you already use MY site as a source, i don't understand your logic.
here is what i said earlier(yes i saved it because i knew you what your like and would delete it)
Blu Cantrell's birthday is wrong for about the one-hundredth time! she was born on: 16th of March, 1976 which makes her a Pisces and the age of 31.
On Blus OFFICIAL MYSPACE (not the one you can find on google btw..its fake) she has age down as 91..wonder why (let me tell you, since i have no doubt you can't work it out) because the month and the day are correct but she changed the year.
also since 2004 agencys like wireimage and filmmagic have photoed her at her bithday party(s) oh and guess what it was in March.
wiki you need to get your act together..getting simple facts wrong like an artists birthday wrong then ignoring it when a fan tells you, is why you will never be a creditable source.
oh and to further my proof (since i have no doubt you will choose to ignore this as well) here is a cap from Blu's OFFICIAL MYSPACE get your act together wiki. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.145.42.98 (talk • contribs)
From her Mother's mouth, artist-author Susi Franco: Blu Cantrell, nee Tiffany LEE ( NOT Cobb, Cobb was her mother's maiden name, is NOT her legal name no matter what you read/heard/or from whom) was born NOT in 1976 but 1973. She is the oldest daughter of 6 children, has a brother aged 41 and a sister aged 37 whom she is between in terms of birth order. She was born NOT in RI but WV. She subsequently moved to RI with her family and was raised there. These facts are easily proven via Bureau of Vital Statistics in Charleston, WV, all of which is in the domain of public information. Birth dates & Bio info conflicting with the true facts were generated by PR at Arista Records ( also verifiable) and have a passing relationship to reality. Ms Cantrell said what she was told to say; PR feared her true age would lose some of her demographic and therefore money out of thier pockets so they altered her information.
Blu Cantrell WAS born March 16th, 1973. She has NEVER been a "porno star". She did pose for pix for Black Tail, back when she lived in the Big Apple and was sharing a tiny apt with 5 other people, sleeping on the floor and pretty much starving. She sometimes worked in a salon sweeping up other people's hair and doing grunt work, so she could have a few dollars in her pocket. Care packages from home were often all she had to eat for days at a time. The photos were offered to her and she called her Mom crying, asking for advice. Doing the shoot meant being able to remain in NY and continue working, which eventually got her the gig doing back-up for Puffy and Faith Evans. Had she given up and gone home, there'd likely have been no "Hit 'Em Up Style". It was an excruciatingly difficult decision for her to make, but she made it so she could remain in NY and sing. Her Mother gently cautioned her that such photos could come back to haunt her someday, but told her to do what she felt was best for her, what she felt she could live with. Blu made her choice and three Grammy noms later, it appears to've been the right thing for her at that time. It was a matter of survival, NOT a career choice.
She doesn't have an upcoming album as of Dec 21, 2011. Soon she will be ready to return to the industry and will be actively working on a new album. I can't give you a hard date for that but will say material is being previewed as of this writing. I noted your entry was unsigned, usually the hallmark of a coward or crank.
I'm pretty sure Cantrell collaborated with Mondo Grosso sometime in 2003 for his song "Blaze it up"(part of "Next wave" album). Where would I put this? Song appearances?... Though she's really the only person singing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by NsdrNPC (talk • contribs) 08:00, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Blu is starring in a new show for NBC called Celebrity Circus. I doubt she'll be doing much singing but I bet she'll hit a few high notes swinging from a trapeeze. It looks really funny...NBC.com has clips from the show. I'll be watching...it debuts Wednesday June 11th at 9:30pm. Check it out! 65.115.116.11 (talk) 18:31, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Just saw her perform on CC (finale). Probably appropriate to add a mention to the paragraph about her involvement in the finale (for completeness), if someone can identify the song she sang.--CheMechanical (talk) 05:11, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

She is included in several African-American categories, however the article says her parents are of Native American (father) and Italian (mother) ancestry. 192.234.13.40 (talk) 22:05, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
