Tara Thaller (née Filipović; born 31 March, 1998) is a Croatian actress best known for her role in HBO's TV series ''Uspjeh''. She adopted the surname Thaller, derived from her great-grandmother's maiden name, informally using it on social media platforms. She formally changed her last name following her debut in a movie role.[2]
Tara Filipović was born in Zagreb, Croatia, and was raised alongside two siblings.[3][4] She speaks English, some German and French and she plays the piano. She has trained in skiing, swimming and horseback riding.[5]
In 2017 she finished high school and attempted to enroll in the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. While preparing for the following year's entrance exam, she briefly worked in a fast-food chain restaurant. However, she resigned from her position after securing the lead role in the HBO TV series, "Uspjeh".[2]
Following several supporting roles primarily in Croatian films and TV series, Thaller achieved recognition with the role of Blanka in "Uspjeh" (Success), broadcast in 2019. This marked a significant turning point in her career. Subsequently, she secured a contract for the Swiss film titled "The Saint of the Impossible", filmed in New York during 2019. This opportunity further extended her international career, which had commenced with a minor role in the film "Ibiza" the previous year.
Although her career is currently focused on big screen and TV, she is very interested in theatre roles.[6]
In 2018 Thaller appeared as a contestant in a Croatian quiz-show Volim Hrvatsku, and in spring 2019 she won the Croatian version of BBC's singing show Just the Two of Us in pair with Croatian singer Dino Jelusić.
