Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Balliol rhyme, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 21:38, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

The article Dalvey has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Hello Cagliost! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

The article Bruce Caldwell (economic historian) has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

You can't just copy text from newspapers and paste it into Wikipedia. You have to rewrite it in your own words, and you can't just change one or two words. I have stubbed Quentin Crewe to remove the copyright violations. In the future, you should use inline citations, such as <ref>...</ref>, to support text that you add, especially in a biography (biographies of living people have stricter requirements). In order to cite the same source multiple times, you can use named references, like <ref name=nyt>...</ref>. Then, when you need to use the reference again, you can cite it with <ref name=nyt/>. Remember that you must use your own words when you write an article. If you wish to use direct quotations, you can use <quote></quote> or quotation marks: Jane Journalist of The New York Times called the book "a triumphant return to form". If you choose to paraphrase someone else's words, you must give attribution: According to Jane Journalist of The New York Times, the book was a return to form for the author. After each of these statements, you would need to include a citation, of course. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 22:44, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary.

The article Six Carpenters' Case has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unreferenced, very short, this content could be added to another article instead
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Seraphim System (talk) 18:55, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article List of places named after places is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of places named after places until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Bloomberg London. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You have been politely asked before to use sources when you add content to Wikipedia. Continuing to add content without sources is disruptive and can result in you being blocked. Feel free to ask questions if you don't understand how sources are supposed to be used on Wikipedia. - MrX 14:42, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

The article Froy Gutierrez has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hello Cagliost,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Oliver Bonas for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Doyne Dawson should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Doyne Dawson.
You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Hello, Cagliost. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Oliver Bonas".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}
, {{db-draft}}
, or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 06:00, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi Cagliost, I just thought it's better to discuss here :-) Like I wrote, I totally can see your point. But I hope you understand my point too? Since it is my life it is very important for me that my decision is reasoned correctly, especially an important one like this one. And "he doesn't want to be associated with" is just not it, there are important parts missing. I also changed my name right after High School, but this process took time and I'm not sure if it was exactly 19 or a bit later. Thank you for your quick reply, Cagliost, and for your understanding. I also saw your post on my talk section now and answered it. The thing with intentions on print articles is a bit tricky here since I usually try to avoid to talk with newspapers about my family. Because I don't want to sell books with these headlines and private topics, but with the stories I write itself. This is why I wrote the text on my homepage to make my decision clear without selling books with it. So I understand that a third party source is better, but it can't be more true than my homepage text. Libuda84 (talk) 14:27, 18 February 2021 (UTC) P.S. Thank you for your edits. If there is anything unclear with my page in the future you can always write into my talk section. Best wishes! Libuda84 (talk) 14:32, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Variable-pitch propeller (marine) into Variable-pitch propeller (aeronautics). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g.,
copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Young Royals (Netflix). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Young Royals (TV series). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Young Royals (TV series). If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Hi. I have reverted your addition of birth dates to the Lead section of the Richard and Maurice McDonald article, because they were not accompanied by citations of reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources. I understand that you're a veteran editor, and that it's possible you added it because you saw those dates in the article's Infobox, but I thought I'd point out that information was also uncited, as another editor added it without citations two days before you did. I've noticed it's somewhat common for editors to add material to one part of an article for this reason, which is why I'd request/suggest, from one veteran editor to another, that we double-check the portion of the article that contains the initial info before adding it to another one. Thanks, and Happy Holidays. Nightscream (talk) 20:59, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
