Hi Gadfium. I received your message "Latest revision as of 06:55, 14 April 2019". I don't remember ever editing the New Zealand National Party page, or even ever going there at all — Preceding unsigned comment added by 36.70.45.250 (talk)
The information contained in the post regards the Heartland New Zealand Party is incorrect. I am the party secretary for the Heartland New Zealand party. Mr Harry Mowbray has no affiliation to the Heartland New Zealand Party and the party is not anti the environment. The edits that I made to this page were a true reflection of the Heartland New Zealand Party and those things that the party stands for as shown on the Heartland New Zealand Party website[1].--ALoader (talk) 02:34, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
Just noticed you're on a roll fixing all the wētā usages in Wikipedia – thanks so much! When I was looking through references I found a variety of spellings in published papers – wetas, weta, and wētā – and some researchers regrettably still aren't using macrons. Perhaps even Weta Workshop will make a change now... —Giantflightlessbirds (talk) 06:51, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
Onekawa is a suburb in Napier but also a pa site between opotiki and whakatane. The photo is of the pa site which is not mentioned in the article.
Hey Gadfium, thank you for letting me know of the situation, but it appears that his real name is Earnest Rutherford, which was in a Biography that was by him, I can forward it if you like

Kia ora Gadfium, hope all's well. I stated in a new article that "few people live permanently in Milford Sound." I wonder whether you could run your magic script and replace that feeble statement with something of more authority. Much appreciated. Schwede66 19:16, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi Gadfium. Unfortunately again some changes are being made to chess players pages , this time Kasparov , as far as highlighting his standing in ches history. I suspect this is done becuase the person doing this favours other players (i.e Fischer) and is trying to minimize other great players like Kasparov and Carlsen. The point of contention is about whether "greatest of all time" should be on Kasparov's page , this has been there for ages and has never bothered anyone until now. There is even a reference from a very well respected chess historian backing it up but apparently that's not enough. exxcalibur808 —Preceding undated comment added 14:35, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Schazjmd (talk) 00:37, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
Hello Gadfium. The details in para 3 of this entry are not, in my opinion, historically accurate which is why I attempted to correct this with an amendment. Some of the information about the identity of the body is contained in the coroner's report of a drowning. This report is held by Archives NZ <ref> R24258546 (From: W L Simpson, Justice of the Peace, Mount Benger Date: 8 March 1865 Subject: Inquest proceedings, man unknown, supposed to be Charles Alms ACGS 16211 48/ah 1865/314) <ref>. This is not accurately represented in the present wording which is speculative as to the identity and disposal of the body, and ignores other information concerning the name of the deceased. Th role of the local community in the legend of the "lonely graves" also needs to be highlighted. In many ways discussion on the possible identity of the body is a distraction. Maybe I should attempt a rewording of the 3rd paragraph, with appropriate references, for you to consider? BarachZ (talk) 01:33, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi Gadfium, I read your message regarding the deletion of statements about coolest cities in the southern hemisphere. What feature did i get wrong about Auckland? Please elaborate on your contention.
The reason why Auckland, Bloemfontien, Santiago, and Maseru all vie for coldest capital cities in the southern hemisphere is that it depends on whether you are looking at average daily temp, highs, lows, monthly mean maximums/minimums, or all-time records. Each of these cities wins in one of these parameters.
As with the source, the source is the temperature data on the city articles themselves, which I also cross-checked with climate graphs of weatherspark.com. So what should be the convention of citing in this case?
Lastly, I think being the coldest capital city in the southern hemisphere is an interesting fact. It is not mentioned in any other article, but it is notable enough that this information should be made available in a public encyclopedia like Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Firth m (talk • contribs) 02:16, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi Gadfium, please can you wait for a few hours before tidying articles related to Māori women weavers as we are currently in an edit-a-thon and I just experienced an editing conflict. Many thanks, Pakoire (talk) 03:31, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
Hi Gadfium, I am reaching out about the suite of Māori related articles on Wikipedia. I wonder if yourself or other editors you may know of would be able to contribute to a discussion about it all. I have seen some of your edits and find it useful to see what you are doing. There are more formed questions that occur to me as I am reading and editing and I would appreciate some collegiality and guidance from difference experience. Could there be a place I could posit questions to start off discussion? I have been using the talk pages but often don't get much of a response, and some of the edits I want to make are quite bold and some are of a structural nature. Hi Gadfium, just wanted to let you know I'm slowly giving Mika Haka a wee copyedit - noticed the page reads more like an official biography than a wikipedia entry so thought I'd tidy it up here and there over the next few days. Have made a note on the article's talk page of what I propose to do.
The subject is in the news at the moment, and the article seems to have been mostly written by Mika's former Production Assistant at the Mika Foundation, Benjamin Watt, who may get a bit protective, so I wanted to heads you up that I don't have any malicious intent.CoronaryKea (talk)

I was in bed when I removed the copyvio from Māori culture, going back one edit. Noted my ipad summary changed "copyvio" to "copy is", so thought I'd attend to the version I had left, when I got out of bed. Found you had already fixed it. Tks. Moriori (talk) 20:18, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for your contributions. Please note that we take a conservative line on linking in WP. So "suburb" is almost never linked. Nor is "New Zealand", given that it's well-known. WP:OVERLINK has further details. Tony (talk) 03:24, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
Hi. I included Whanganui Island not Coromandel in the link partly because the Whanganui Island has the detail of his stay - and the Coromandel page does not. Also Coromandel didn't exist at the time so his visit to it would have been difficult. Whoever looks at Coromandel is going to see nothing. I would have though just quietly directed the reader to Whanganui Island was ideal - No? So what would you suggest then? Is this entry better on the authors talk page or the article talk page? I have never been able to work out what the protocol is. If I used the Article Talk site how would you know that I had edited it ( unless you had bt chance starred it?LawrieM (talk) 21:11, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
Hi. I have added in the extra reference now. How does that look? As regards Piesse being " Self Published" - not sure why that is a problem. The booklet includes 27 separate detailed bibliographies, 3 notes, 1 certificate of Title and 4 maps.

I will update this project page regularly plus send out weekly updates. The focus of this grant is on quality content on Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata. I encourage you to go in-depth and reach out for hints about where to get resources. There is heaps available on-line. Reach out with problems eg. Categories etc
There will be three formal edit-a-thons in Wellington, Auckland and Dunedin. Dates to be confirmed.
You can email me at any time maule.lisa@gmail.com or message me on my talk page.
My focus once the project starts will be on getting resources available for editors from organisations, and educating people in organisations on what Wiki platforms are and how and why they can be engaged. Pakoire (talk) 07:46, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
Hello, Gadfium. I reviewed your recent comment on my talk page and am searching to look through your perspective. I thank you very much for commenting because then I can alter my behaviour when I recieve a constructive comment. I did not realise that the article etiquette encompassed such things and am glad you have brought it up with me. I will refrain from re-adding the symbol to the New Plymouth page although I cannot promise to do so for every article. I would like to be able to add my own work, no mater how small and if you really do disagree you can add a comment to my talk page. Thank you for your concern. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheAmoebaSisters (talk • contribs) 01:42, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Euronesian is a portmanteau word used in Samoa to describe all the people that are not 100% Samoans. It includes "European" but also Chinese origins (or Black American). The proper word for Chinese (mixed) doesn't exist. During the colonial time, Mongoloid was used during census. But now, the official use is only "General Electorate" (they elect 2 MPs at Fono). --RotachZ (talk) 08:35, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
Hello, Gadfium. I saw the recent edits you have made to the page about the Notable Staff. The reason as in to why they do not have pages is because if I try to make a page everytime it goes onto auto-deletion. Therefore, it is a hassle. Here in New Zealand or among the auckland/international spectrum they are well known and notable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NZDF1985 (talk • contribs) 19:04, 17th July 2021 (NZST)
