Haddonfield Memorial High School

[edit]

Not that I'm a big fan of marching bands, but I do agree that they have a place in an article about the high school. I do question how much is included, especially the history. I would support the inclusion of the lead paragraph you added while leaving out the detailed history. I will also make a few changes to tone down some of the wording. I will differ with Alansohn in that I am a huge fan of marching bands having marched through high school and beyond, but I agree that your recent edit was overkill. I left some links on the talk page with some relevant links to guidelines and such. I can tell that you are very passionate about the band, but too much of a good thing starts looking gaudy. If I may suggest, work on punching up that paragraph with referenced material on the bands major state and national level accomplishments. Keep in mind: this is an encyclopedia article, not the band's home page.

Best of luck on your editing! LonelyBeacon (talk) 23:31, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While I think LonelyBeacon differ in emphasis, I think we were headed in the same direction in terms of content. I support the advice provided as a means to include the most relevant content in the article. Alansohn (talk) 23:37, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What if I were to establish a separate page for the HMHS Marching Band? Wouldn't the history, and additional information we have (including scores, awards, past band directors, and other information) be suitable?
