Function details: Keeps the revision ID (permanent link) of the current version of Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests, to support functionality of Template:RMassist and its subtemplate Template:RMassist/core. This functionality was previously supported by the {{REVISIONID}} magic word, which was broken when miser mode was implemented in February. My workaround uses the parser function which is still able to get the technical metadata of another page.
I have boldly implemented this (WP:IAR) as this functionality has been broken for the past three months after the MediaWiki developers enabled "miser mode" without notifying the requested moves project in advance. Hoping for speedy approval as this only effects a single, newly-created page and the PHP code is, as you can see, very short and simple. – wbm1058 (talk) 20:28, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Approved. In the future, if you are applying for a speedy approval or it is particularly urgent, feel free to ping me or another BAG member (list of us). Please do not just wait 7 minutes and 9 seconds before boldly going ahead anyways. Unauthorized bot activity is grounds for a block of the bot account per WP:BOTBLOCK; it is definitely safer to wait. As per usual, if amendments to - or clarifications regarding - this approval are needed, please start a discussion on the talk page and ping. --TheSandDoctor Talk 02:04, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
