Merge to parent categories. It is not helpful for navigation to have too many intermediate category layers. When it comes to geography, a continent layer and a country layer are sufficient. Marcocapelle (talk) 02:51, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete entire scheme We don't have album by genre cats when we don't have articles for the genre (or else there would be an infinite amount of sub-sub-sub-genre metal cats). ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯16:55, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The entire scheme has not been nominated (yet) so this should be a merge as nominated rather than a delete. In case the entire scheme is deleted (in a later stage) we might manually move some articles to Category:Protest music. Marcocapelle (talk) 17:47, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with Marco that this is beyond the scope of this specific discussion and it would feel inappropriate to change the proposal, but if anyone were to nominate the whole tree for deletion then I'd likely support that. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 03:18, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Per WP:OCASSOC, WP:PERFCAT, & WP:NONDEFINING The Kit-Kat Club was an 18th century gentlemen's club in London. At the time, it was known for Whig politics but now it's mostly remembered for popularizing a new format for portraits. The membership is not treated as defining since most of the articles don't even mention this, although a minority mention being a member or getting a portrait done there. The only exception is Charles Dartiquenave who has a whole section but it's mostly about how awesome his portrait is, which I've shared here for your admiration. - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:50, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The only article in this category is Toki Ginjiro who was a deputy editor of the Tokyo Shimbun newspaper which is owned by the Chunichi Shimbun media company. I don't think that Mr. Ginjiro is a "member" of that parent company in any sense and wonder if that is a translation issue. (If other articles can be found, no objection to creating a "people" category later for employees.) - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:50, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
