The 2012 Great American Wiknic will be Boston's second year participating in the Wiknic program. It will be held on Saturday June 23, 2012 in Boston Common on the south side of Frog Pond, here. A Wiknic is a great easy-in to real life Wikipedia culture, and can lead to greater participation in the wiki-community slowly growing in New England!
Boston Common is easily accessible by the Red and Green Lines. There is also below-ground parking on Charles Street.
Sharing of foodstuffs, like sharing knowledge, is invited and encouraged; accordingly, the Wiknic will be run on potluck basis.
It may be of interest that this Wiknic will be occurring at the same time and near the same place as the 2012 BostonReddit meetup.
Achowat (talk) I'll be bringing a fruit salad, some fried chicken (unless I get lazy)(Not lazy, but I was forced to stay late at work last night and couldn't do the necessary prep) and a frisbee.
If I can get at least three other people say "I'd be interested in playing", I will buy myself a Settlers of Catan and bring it to the Wiknic. Sven ManguardWha?01:15, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I surely hope to! Recently, have been awfully reclusive, though. Might bring a few duct flutes, incl. whistles and recorders, and, very likely, a video-capable tiny pocket Coolpix. Nikevich 20120613 13:18
Just got a meeting scheduled that morning. Might still get there (if I do, probably late). Chulsky (talk)
I'll be there in spirit. I'm going to send out invitations to a couple of local archivists who might be interest in Wikipedia Loves Libraries in the fall. Dominic·t14:37, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
