- I joined the GOCE during their July copyedit drive and have since then participated in everyone since then. While my copyediting activity is not as high as it was back in the earlier drives, I still actively participant in new ideas and discussions. During the breaks between the drives I try and copyedit some pages anyways. If elected I'd help out wherever needed. Thanks. Derild4921☼ 22:05, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- What is your response to a comment by Malleus Fatuorum, one of the most skilled and renowned copyeditors on Wikipedia? This comment appeared in User talk:Malleus Fatuorum/Archives/2010/June#Copyediting: "PS. This kind of thing is either a joke, or you need to up your game." (link) Have you wised up since June? Lunalet (talk) 00:12, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I admit that was a very terrible "copyedit". At that time at had somewhat of a "This looks cool so I'll join this" attitude, but I feel that I've definitely improved since June though I still make a few typo mistakes I need to go back and fix after a copyedit. Overall I think that comment was very true and apologize for the attitude I had at that time. Derild4921Review Me! 00:43, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- In order for me to fully evaluate your improvements since June, please critique your copyedit linked above. What was wrong with it, and will you now fix the mistakes you made to the article? Lunalet (talk) 00:48, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- The article as it is now or as it was when I "copyedited" it? Derild4921Review Me! 00:54, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- In other words, in what way was your copyedit poor? And if these issues still stand, will you fix them now? Lunalet (talk) 00:57, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Generally I found that the copyedit was too shallow. All I did at the time was fix a few extremely obvious cases of typos and grammar, but not really anything else. Off the top of my head I see missing words not added, redundant words not removed, bad wording not fixed, wrong tenses not fixed and a typo not fixed. Derild4921Review Me! 01:13, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Will you fix it now? Imo, you made the article worse. women's → woman's, "when it reached number one on the Hot 100 the chart week of July 11, 2009. It was their second single to do so." → "when it reached number one on the Hot 100 during the week of July 11, 2009 making it was their second single to do so.", "What's more, 'I Gotta Feeling' is every bit as quirky as its predecessor." → "Crititcs also feel I've got a Feeling is every bit as quirky as its preceptor." Please fix those and other mistakes you purportedly discovered. Lunalet (talk) 01:24, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- What is your reaction to a comment by Malleus Fatuorum that said "I wish you luck with your drive, but it's not for me. It may well be "elitist", but I'm only really interested in helping along those articles headed for FA/GA, where it's not just the grammar and spelling that's important, but the aricle's structure, accessibility, comprehensibility, referencing, image licencing " (link or full discussion)? Do you work on improving an article's structure, accessibility, comprehensibility, referencing, image licencing when you copyedit? Lunalet (talk) 01:01, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I don't find it "elitist" as everyone has their own interests and what they want to do. If he wants to check for everything then go for it. Generally I try to stay away from any kind of coding since I'm awful with it. (I can't even get an archiving bot to work!) Working with references is dreadful to me since there's just so many characters the only error I can notice is if I forget the closing />. I tend to stay away from structure since either the article is too small to need any reorganizing or the article has been maintained by an editor who may prefer their own way. I find comprehensibility the same as improving wording and grammar which I try to do and stay away from accessibility since it involves moving and reorganizing which like structure is either not necessary or may change how an editor prefers it. - I have the same problem with coding as Derild. In fact, that is why I switched from APP to WC, because of an error in Javascript that I wrote that translated to a whiteout for my account. APP's userpage is at the link named "lost" in my sig. WikiCopter (radio • sorties • images • simplicity • lost • defense • attack) 01:33, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
