From the editors

Welcome to the February 2012 edition of your military history newsletter, the Bugle. The project's most prestigious award, the "Military historian of the Year," was voted on and awarded last month. The accolade is given to the editor who is judged by their peers to have made the most significant impact on the subject of military history on Wikipedia. In an Australian sweep, AustralianRupert has won the Golden Wiki, while Ian Rose and Nick-D took second and third. The Bugle wishes to congratulate all three and all the editors nominated for the award. (ed. note: Ian Rose is an editor of the Bugle.)

In other news, the former Russian and Soviet military history task force has been renamed to the Russian, Soviet and CIS military history task force (where the CIS stands for the Commonwealth of Independent States) to better reflect its scope. The coordinators have also reorganized the top of Our project talk page to better focus on the open tasks, such as reviews. They have also eliminated the review notices to the main project talk page, as the page has enough traffic even without a plethora of notices.
