Welcome!

For November 2024 we want to build on the momentum of last month and all of the contributions for Women in STEM to focus on Women in Engineering. We've chosen to focus on E in STEM for November as it is the month that celebrates the birth of the Electrical Association for Women, the daughter of the Women's Engineering Society, and the month of the National Engineering Day in the UK. Whilst other STEM subjects have seen a rise in the number of women entering those fields, the number of women in engineering has not expanded to the same degree, and in some countries is declining!

We hope both inexperienced and seasoned editors will join us in creating biographies and other articles about women in all fields of engineering around the world, as well as their achievements, writings, organizations, and awards. This virtual editathon allows enthusiasts wherever they may be to participate in our initiative. Contributors are of course also welcome to add articles on any other notable women who deserve to be covered, for example under our #1day1woman priority.

The main goals of the event are:

What else?

Thank you!
