Xavier Espot Zamora (born 30 October 1979) is an Andorran judge and politician. He is a former minister of justice[1] and the current prime minister of Andorra, serving since 16 May 2019.[2]
Espot has a degree and a master's degree in Law from the Faculty of the Superior School of Business Administration and Management (ESADE). In addition, he also has a degree in Humanities from the Faculty of Philosophy of the Ramon Llull University of Barcelona.[3]
Under the government of Antoni Martí, between 25 July 2012 and 28 February 2019 he was the minister of social affairs, justice and interior, succeeding Rosa Ferrer Obiols.[3] He resigned on 28 February 2019 as Minister to prepare his candidacy for the prime minister in the 2019 general election.[4]
He has served as prime minister since 16 May 2019.[2]
On 11 September 2023, Espot Zamora came out as gay in an interview with Ràdio Nacional d'Andorra.[5][6]
