Jack Logan (born March 30, 1983), is a Filipino YouTuber, vlogger, comedian and filmmaker. He is known for his commentaries about social issues on Facebook and YouTube.[2][3]

Career

[edit]

Social media

[edit]

Jack Logan gained popularity on social media through his original videos, quotes, travel vlogs and product reviews.[4]

In August 2021, following the social media outrage over Nas Daily's alleged exploitation of the Philippines’ living cultural treasure, the 103-year-old Apo Whang-Od, Jack Logan called on Filipinos to come together and shine a light on the Philippines without validation or help from foreigners.[5] “I call on my Filipino friends, vloggers, artists, and people in power: It’s time to come together and put the Philippines on a bigger stage without waiting for someone to notice us,” says Jack Logan.

In March 2023, Jack Logan criticized social media personality Rendon Labador's rant about the disturbing issue of Coco Martin's taping of "FPJ's Batang Quiapo" at the sale of some vendors in Quiapo, Manila.[6] Logan also stressed that Coco Martin is not the only one Rendon is fighting and evicting, as well as the hundreds of people and production workers who make up the said action-drama series.

In April 2023, Jack Logan also critized Rendon Labador's trending motivational rice, after the latter said that his rice is a symbol of people who don't give up on life.[7] In the same month, Jack Logan openly defended Belle Mariano against her bashers on social media. This prompted a positive response from her fans who appreciated his message.[3]

In May 2023, Logan became the latest addition to celebrities and social media personalities who sided with Michael V when he was insulted by another social media influencer Rendon Labador on the issue of content creators of the Philippines.[8]

Film

[edit]

In November 2023, Jack Logan's social media documentary entitled Jack Logan Realtalks is nominated for the best single digital program/short film category of the 28th Asian Television Awards. He is the only Filipino vlogger to compete in the category.[9][10] Jack Logan's entry to the awards is the June 2023 episode featuring San Juan City's colorful history which includes the 1896 Philippine Revolution.[11][12]
