Hello, Silverije. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. GiantSnowman 16:08, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
In a 2007 arbitration case, administrators were given the power to impose discretionary sanctions on any user editing Balkans-related articles in a disruptive way. If you engage in further inappropriate behaviour in this area, you may be placed under sanctions including blocks, a revert limitation or an article ban. Thank you. See here; I think the person you are trying to contact is unlikely to see your message. -- Soap Talk/Contributions 17:41, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
I had no idea what you were talking about, or how you thought that I could help you communicate to a completely different user. I see now just above that someone explicitly suggested that. Well, what can I say, I live in a city of a million people, even if Admiral Norton also lives here, that simply doesn't imply that I know how to contact him. :) --Joy [shallot] (talk) 22:41, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
Hello! I noticed you've done a fair amount of castles-related work so you're certainly qualified and might be interested in improving the List of castles in Croatia to featured-list status. You may want to take a look at User_talk:Kebeta#Re:_Congratulations for more details and perhaps also leave a message there... GregorB (talk) 07:36, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
Hi, can you please insert a proper reference to Belaj's work after the paragraph you added to Chiprovtsi#Antiquity and Middle Ages? I saw there was a reference mentioned in the paragraph, but that's not quite how it works, and I was unable to determine what kind of reference it is exactly. Also, please use {{cite book}}, {{cite journal}} and the like. Thanks! :) Todor→Bozhinov 12:15, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
Hi. Just to let you know that I removed Template:List of castles in Europe from all the Croatian castle articles. It's a list-listing template intended for use on lists such as List of castles in Croatia, not on inidividual castle articles, and wasn't being used on articles on castles in any other country. Hi. When you recently edited Bernardin Frankopan, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Aristocrat and Ribnik (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). I noticed you restored this article, but then also noticed that the old history (redirect) had been protected, which was the probably reason why you didn't restore it in the original location. In the future, when you come across such a situation, that you can't edit something that looks like it should be edited, please see Help:Protection and in particular use any admin or WP:RUP to request unprotection. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 09:55, 26 February 2013 (UTC)

Hello Silverije, I'm contacting you because we need some Croatian translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on hr.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Croatian Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 23:06, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi there! I came across this template, which was created and I suppose - is supervised by you. It's a great work and it looks like a flawless summary of all battles related to Croatia I thought I'll share my observations about the Austro-Hungarian – Bosnia-Herzegovinian War, which is indeed an important part of the table and of history. There are four battles listed, and I saw you added tow of them after creation: Battle of Jajce (1878) Battle of Vitez (1878) Battle of Sarajevo (1878) Battle of Livno (1878) Now my problem with that is that it is really a partial list, which is fine if it focuses on the major battles for now but it isn't quite the case. According to A magyar nemzet hadtörténelme by József Bánlaky There were at leat a dozen battles at the time (mostly in 1878). Battle of Jajce is fine but e.g. Battle of Vitez was just a march through without any armed conflict. There were also battles at Banja Luka, Gračanica, Han Pirkovac, Dolnja Tuzla, Čitluk, Ravnice (before Sarajevo) just no name a few. How about making a revamp of that section? I will gladly start it and if you have any comments along the way just drop me a message. Also if you feel like please give a respond to me on my talk page about the idea in general. Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Palmotta a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Palmotić. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. --Zoupan 03:01, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

The article Vlaho Kabužić has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Zoupan 02:26, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, I haven't been paying much attention to my talk page. In general, if any individual admin is not responding to such requests, please use a noticeboard, in this case Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. Because it doesn't have sources (i.e. a section titled Sources, References, or something like that). That put aside, I believe Start class would be OK.
The article lists a lot of numerical data, that's why it would be really good if it used inline refs right from the start. Tagged accordingly now. GregorB (talk) 21:19, 3 January 2018 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Savino Bobali, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Croatian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). A tag has been placed on Category:Sport in Gospić requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

You have recently edited the article. Whether Gundulic should be identified as Croatian, Serbian or something else is a question that's been heavily discussed. See the majority of all the talk on Talk:Ivan Gundulić. If you want to modify the lead about his nationality, it is best to use the talk page and get consensus. At present he is identified as "the most prominent Baroque poet from the Republic of Ragusa", which is a safe statement and is technically correct. This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in Eastern Europe or the Balkans. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. This is the second time you have reverted my edit of Template:Dubrovnik nobility sidebar without an explanation.
The version of the names of Ragusan noble houses that I used is the official version used both during the Republic as well as by their remaining members today (e.g. Dubrovnik's contemporary scenographer Marin Gozze [3]). The Slavic version was used as a sort of nickname or pseudonym, not officially. For this I gave a source in the edit description, an article discussing this by the noteworthy Croatian historian Nenad Vekarić: http://www.lzmk.hr/images/radovi6/nenad%20vekaric%20prijedlog%20za%20normiranje%20dubrovackih%20imena%20i%20prezimena%20iz%20povijesnih%20vrela.pdf
From which I quote: "No, kroatizirane oblike vlasteoskih prezimena treba pravilno razumjeti.
I can understand that you consider the Slavic version closer, I also used it regularly and without a second thought, following the example of others, before I found out that it was merely a sort of nickname, and that the Romance version was always official. We should respect their real last names and not change them based on what appeals to us.
If you simply continue reverting, I will have to report it.

THe edit summary you just made for reverting the Trpimirović tree is completely nonsensical. I did not "eliminate this family tree". I made three changes: 1) I switched templates. The merger discussion said "great care should be taken when implementing the merger" and I took great care in doing it - every change I made was intentional and none involved "merging or deleting any of the involved wrapper templates", as you inexplicably complained about in your edit summary. This is really not negotiable - the familytree template is being eliminated, so deal with it. 2) I intentionally modified the tree to make clear the relationship of Demetrius Zvonimir to Stjepan Svetoslavić, which in the prior version had a dotted line but no indication what that dotted line represented, so I spelled it out as described on the respective pages to improve the chart. If you have a better way of demonstrating what is meant by this part of the chart, we can talk about it, but some clarification is necessary. 3) Finally, to address your question, "Why did you delete boxes?" I removed the boxes because I think the boxes are ugly and unnecessary. You apparently think differently. So be it, but how about we talk about the actual issues you have with the modified version rather than just blanket reverting and thereby restoring the deprecated template? Hello Silverije. I see that you edited on Nikola IV Zrinski's page. I have a question why the page changed from Nikola Šubić Zrinski to Nikola IV Zrinski and he is a Croat. And a Hungarian name Miklós Zrínyi [[5]] did not change to Nikola VII Zrinski and he is half Croat, half Hungarian. Someone should make a request to change that to Nikola VII Zrinski. Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.Slatersteven (talk) 17:18, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. I just noticed that Croatian–Bulgarian battle of 854 was not necessarily dated correctly, with these edits: [11] [12] where there are seemingly arbitrary citations that don't correspond to the source material. Please double-check this and fix it properly. Joy (talk) 21:21, 17 January 2024 (UTC)

I have reverted your edit to Bilina because disambiguation pages should not be over-written with an article without prior discussion. If you wish to add an article on the village in Jablanica, perhaps you could title it Bilina, Jablanica? Leschnei (talk) 12:43, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
Hi. This is regarding this revert of yours, my edit was not entirely unexplained. While I admit I didn't leave the greatest edit summary ever,[13] I did provide a link to the relevant section of the guideline - Wikipedia:Categorization#Template categorization where it states:
Templates are not articles, and thus do not belong in content categories. It is however a recommendation to place them in template categories – subcategories of Category:Wikipedia templates – to assist when looking for templates of a certain type. For example, Template:Schubert string quartets is categorized under Category:String quartets by composer navigational boxes, which should be a subcategory of Category:Music navigational boxes (type) but Template:Schubert string quartets should not be categorized under Category:Franz Schubert or Category:String quartets (content).
I'm not on any mission to rid templates of all miscategorizations of this type, but I do occasionally remove content categories from templates when I notice them. When doing so, I simply supply the shortcut link "WP:CAT#T" as an edit summary / explanation. --DB1729talk 23:02, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
