The WikiProject Japan Owarai task force aims to improve the quality and consistency of Wikipedia articles dealing with topics related to Japanese style comedy, or owarai. The task force also aims to increase awareness of Japanese (indeed, international) comedy by creating informative and interesting articles outlining the unique and original aspects of comedy in Japan of which the average Wikipedian may not be aware.

WikiProject to-dos

[edit]

Article creation priority order:

  1. General owarai topics (functioning as mini-portals) (reasonably complete)
  2. Major past and present kombi and pin-geinin (current focus)
  3. Popular variety shows, quiz shows, etc.
  4. Articles for individual geinin in kombi and groups
  5. General beefing of articles and background information on more specific topics such as stages, the selection process, trends and lifestyles, etc.
